OUR STORY

Welcome hummus lovers, enthusiasts, and rookie fans! We, Yana and Arie, are the owners of this brand new little venture called HOOMOOS. Why are we misspelling hummus, you ask? Well “HOOMOOS” is actually the way you would pronounce this tasty treat in the Middle-East… and let’s be honest, it’s way more fun to say it this way!

 

This all began in 2011 when Arie and I got married. After Arie moved here from the Middle-East, I wanted to impress him by cooking up something nostalgic, something that tasted like home. I made hummus.  His reaction was far from the one I was expecting or hoping for. “It’s….different” said Arie. Translation – it’s no good. Fast forward a few years and we finally got it right!

 

We bring you hummus that is made using a truly authentic recipe with wholesome ingredients. Add it to your sandwich,  grilled meat, top your omelet with it, or eat it with a spoon like you would yogurt…no judgement here :) It's been a staple in our home for some time now and we hope you will love it as much as we do.
